'Royal George' model gun
Gun model in three pieces made of the wood of 'Royal George', which sank at Spithead in sank 1782. A bronze model gun mounted on an oak carriage. Muzzle loading gun with button cascabel. It has a wooden four truck carriage with breeching rings on each side and four steps to each transom. There is a capstan-shaped elevating device. Associated with the model is a pile of eight round shot on wooden base (ball bearings, too large for the bore of the gun).' Inscribed on top of the barrel in front of the vent is: 'Relic of the ROYAL GEORGE Sunk 1782 Raised 1840.'
