Dish from the 'Royal George' wreck
A wooden dish retrieved from the wreck site of the ship of the line 'Royal George', which sank at Spithead in 1782. Half a wooden dish made of beech. Inscribed in large capitals on base: 'W.L. 1782'. Possibly belonged to William Leslie, Surgeon's Mate on the ship at the time of her loss.
