Candle from 'Royal George' wreck
A candle retrieved from the wreck site of the ship of the line 'Royal George', which sank at Spithead in 1782. In a glass flask with a stopper and mounted on a stand labelled: 'His Majesty's ship "Royal George" overset and sunk at Spithead on the 29th August 1782. This candle, recovered from the wreck, was presented to John Wenman Warwick Green, on board the "Success" hulk in 1842.'
