Wood fragment from 'Royal George' wreck
A piece of wood retrieved from the wreck site of the ship of the line 'Royal George', which sank at Spithead in 1782. An associated piece of paper is inscribed: 'Piece of a fossilized spar of H.M.S. ROYAL GEORGE sunk at Spithead JUNE 28th 1782.'
