A distant view of the coastline off Dunkirk (Dunkerque) from starboard side of the quarterdeck on the light cruiser HMS Aurora (1913). Part of the rail and ready-use ammunition boxes for the after six-inch gun can be seen on the right of the image.

Aurora's log records her arriving off Dunkirk on 9 June from Harwich. She patrolled the nets off the Belgian Coast on 11 June. Aurora spent the remaining days between 12 June and 18 June patrolling from Dunkirk. She returned to Harwich on 19 June 1916.
