H.M.S. 'Vanguard' fairlead
Brass fairlead. Label: 'Cleat, relic from ship's boat of H.M.S. Vanguard, sunk at Scapa flow in October 1916 as result of internal explosion. Collected from inshore where nothing much bigger remained'. The date of the accident was actually 9 July 1917.
