Oak box made from 'Ariadne'
Oak box with hinged lid (hinges are missing). The lock with an ivory inlaid keyhole. A handwritten note inside reads: 'Made from the wood of H.M. old Man of War "Ariadne" Capn Marryat. Where all his sea novels were written. This wood is 200 years old'.
