Plaque made from H.M.S. 'Foudroyant'

Circular oak plaque with central copper medallion, showing in deep relief the bow of a ship, in a cartouche below 'FOUDROYANT'. A paper label on the reverse: 'The Fletcher's Antique Furniture and the 'Foudroyant' Company Limited, hereby certify that the Article sold herewith, if of Timber is made from Timber, and if of Copper is made of Copper obtained from Lord Nelson's Flagship 'Foudroyant' And which ship was wrecked off Blackpool, in the County of Lancaster, on the Sixteenth Day of June, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Seven.' Inscribed on back in pen 'August 1902'. Suspension hook.
