Wooden shield on a stand with a copper plate in the centre depicting a 3-decker under sail in relief, an oak and a chestnut leaf in each corner above the ship, beneath it, a portrait if Nelson in an oval medallion. Below the portrait of Nelson: 'ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY, ADMIRAL LORD NELSON OCT 21ST 1805. MADE OF COPPER FROM H.M.S. VICTORY & FOUDROYANT PRESENTED BY LORD STRATHCONA & MOUNT ROYAL GCMG THROUGH BRITISH AND FOREIGN SAILOR'S SOCIETY FOR CANADIAN SCHOOLS 1907. ER VII.' Metal plate above ship inscribed: 'Presented by HRH THE DUCHESS OF ALBANY TO THE RT. HON. LORD STRATHCONA & MOUNT ROYAL K.C.M.G. HIGH COMMSR OF CANADA on the Ninetieth Anniversary of the British and Foreign Sailors Society held at the Mansion House. The RT. HON. THE LORD MAYOR (SIR JOHN CHARLES BELL) presiding.
