Round box made from H.M.S. 'Victory'
Round wooden box with a screw lid, black lacquered. There is a gilt lining to the base and a gilt rim round the edge of the lid which has a gilt stud in the centre. On the base, a silver plaque inscribed: 'Made of wood from H.M.S. Victory on which I served and was severely wounded at the Battle of Trafalgar. This box was presented to me by my brother CAPT. G.A. WEST PHAL1815.'
