Wooden pillars
A pair of pine pillars, said to be sections of the mast of a ship commanded by Admiral Sir Richard Leveson (circa 1570-1605) during the Spanish Armada campaign 1588. Leveson did serve in this campaign at the start of his career but only as a volunteer.On an attached label: 'This section of a ship's mast (one of a pair ) is reputed to be from a ship commanded by Admiral Sir Richard Leveson who led part of the English Fleet at the Battle of the Spanish Armada 1588 and who was one of the Duke of Sutherland's ancestors' [check].
