Shuttle telegraph mast collar
An iron collar from a shutter telegraph mast from Beacon Hill, South Harting, now in West Sussex. It formed part of the chain between London and Portsmouth built in 1796. A hexagonal iron collar, hinged in two places, with four eye rings on the sides. Closed with a wedge-shaped pin.
