Rye, second seal of the corporation, 1400. It depicts a sailing vessel circa 1400. The bolt-heads and rubbing-pieces (fenders) of the clinker-built hull, the gudgeon-plates of the stern-post rudder, and the reef points on the sail are all seen clearly. Inscription: 'SIGILLUM :: BARONUM :: DE :: RYA'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
