Seal of Maximilian II, Duke of Burgundy, Admiral of Flanders, Lord of Bevres and Veere, 1543. Inscription: '(SI)GILLV : MAXIMILIANI : A : BURGONDIA : D(OMINI : BE)VERIS : AC : VERIS : M(A)RIS : PREFECTI'. It depicts a mid-sixteenth-century sailing vessel, an early illustration of shrouds set up by lanyards and deadeyes. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
