Hythe, common seal, late 12th - early 13th century

Hythe, common seal, late 12th to early 13th century. It depicts a late twelfth to early thirteenth-century sailing vessel with a quarter-rudder on the starboard side. Inscription: 'SIGILLVM : COMMVNE : BARONVM : DE : HETHE'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
