Sandwich, seal of the corporation, late 13th or early 14th century. It depicts an earlier late thirteenth- or early fourteenth-century ship. An early illustration of a ship's boat carried on deck. Two prongs or 'mike' are seen projecting from the stern-post. Inscription: 'SIGILL : CONCILII : BARONVM : DE : SANDWICO'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
