New Romney, seal of the corporation, 1357-8
New Romney, seal of the corporation, 1357-8, from a document of 1357-8. Possibly the seal is earlier, as the design is in 13th century style. A single-masted ship, the sail furled. Inscription: 'SIGILLVM BARONVM DE RONEMEV'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
