Schleswig, seal of the town, circa 1711. It depicts an eighteenth century ship, at anchor, stripped for lying in ordinary: the fore-mast with top and shrouds only, the main mast without top and entirely stripped, the mizen-mast with top only and carrying a mizen yard, the bowsprit with top and spritsail topmast without yard, the spritsail furled on its yard. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
