Thomas Beaufort, seal of office, 1418-26. The smaller seal of the Admiral. It shows an early fifteenth century sailing vessel with stem binding of ropes round the planking under the fore-stage, and rubbing pieces (fenders) on the hull. St George's flag is shown as a banner in the bow and a pennon on the mast-head. The Royal arms are placed on the sail and on a banner in the stern. Inscription ':: S :: THOME . DUCIS :: EXON . COMIT DORST ADMIRALL' : AGL :. ACQUT ET HIB'.
