John Holland, seal of office, 1435-42. It depicts a fifteenth century sailing vessel. The sail of the ship bears the arms of the Holand family - the arms of England and a bordure of France. At the stern, a banner indented per pale. An admiral's lantern is hung on a staff in the stern. Inscription: 'S'IOHIS :COMT' HUTYGDON DNI DE JVORY ETC ADMIRALLI : ANGLIE : HIBNIE ET ACQUITANE'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
