Denarius of Caracalla, 211-17 AD
Cast of a denarius of Caracalla, 211-17 AD. On the obverse, Caracalla's bust as a boy, lauriate. Inscription: 'ANTONINVS PIVS AVG'. On the reverse, is a galley under oars, with acrostolium and standards. In the stern are seated the emperors Severus, Caracalla and Geta. Inscription: 'ADVENT AVG'. The casts are mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
