Cast of a medal commemorating the Glorious First of June, 1794. Reverse: Neptune standing in his sea-car drawn by two horses, pointing with his right to a distant action (one vessel sinking) and with his left hand giving his trident to Britannia seated (right) with shield and trophies; a winged Victory above inscribing an obelisk with the names of the admirals who took part in the battle: 'HOWE GRAVES BRIDPORT BOWYER CALDWELL GARDNER PASLEY'. Legend: 'NON NOBIS SED PATRIAE' (not to us but to our country). Exergue: 'MDCCXCIIII IST JUNE'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
