Casts of each side of a medal commemorating the centenary of the Lutterworth Tradesmen's original Benefit Society, 1846. Obverse: Bust of John Wickliffe face front, (three-quarter right). Legend: (outer) 'CENTENARY FESTIVAL COMMEMORATION MEDAL MAY 20 A.D. 1846'; (inner) 'JOHN WICKLIFFE BORN 1524 . DIED 1584.' Reverse: Starboard broadside view of a full rigged merchant ship under sail. Legend: (outer) 'THE LUTTERWORTH TRADESMENS ORIGINAL BENEFIT SOCIETY . INSTITUTED MAY 20 . A.D. 1746'; (inner) 'LIBERTY ORDER UNITY AND EQUITY'. Exergue: 'THE GOOD OLD SHIP IS YET BUT NEW THO' BUILT A HUNDRED YEARS.' The two casts are mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
