Sandwich, seal of the corporation, late 13th or early 14th century. It depicts a late thirteenth or early fourteenth century sailing vessel. An early illustration of a ship's boat carried on deck. Two prongs or a 'mike' are shown projecting from the stern post. Inscription: 'SIGILL : CONCILII : BARONVM : DE : SANDWICO'. The cast is mounted on a felt covered hardboard backboard with a label. SEC0489-498 mounted together.
