John Holland, seal of office, 1435-42. First seal as Admiral of England, Ireland and Acquitaine. The sail of the ship bears the arms of the Holland family, England and a bordure of France. At the stern, a banner indented per pale, and aft of this an admiral's lantern on a staff. In four pieces. Inscription: 'S'ION HIS COMIT HUTYGDEN DNI DE JVORY ETC ADMIRALLI ANGL' HIBNE ET ACQUITANE'. On an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
