Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Port broadside view of the 'Maine' flying the Union Jack, US ensign and Red Cross flag. Above the US arms, supported by an eagle. Below, the Geneva (Red) Cross. Inscribed on a ribbon: 'Presented by the American Ladies Committee'. Reverse: Within a laurel wreath. Inscription: 'To H.M. Queen Victoria in commemoration of the A.H.S. "Maine" South Africa & China 1899-1901'.
