Medal cast
Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: An oak and laurel wreath, a crown punched in the centre. On a ribbon: 'REWARD OF MERIT'. Reverse: An anchor in the centre with a crown above. Legend engraved in three lines: 'Presented by Captn. P.B.V. BROKE for CONSPICIOUS (sic) SERVICE RENDERED at the capture of the CHESAPEAKE 1 June 1813'. A cast of a medal in private hands fitted with a loop soldered on at the top.
