Two casts obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: A full-length figure of Vernon facing left, his right hand extended, a baton in his left. A fort on the left inscribed: 'FORT CHAGRE', a ship right sailing left. Legend: 'ADL VERNON TOOK PORTO BELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY'. Exergue: 'NOV 22 1739'. Reverse: A full-length figure of Admiral Haddock facing, wearing a hat, turned three-quarter left. His right hand is extended, his left is resting on the muzzle of a gun. A ship to the right, a fort left. Legend: 'ADML H....K TOOK O WITH SEVERAL SHIPS ONLY'.
