Medal cast

Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Head of William III. Legend: 'GULIELM : III D . G . M. BRIT : FR : ET HIB : REX F. D. P. A.' Reverse: A rock rising out of the sea. The British flagship, left, sailing by uninjured, the meridian sun shining over her. To the right, the French flagship sinking, behind her a sun, marked with the fleur-de-lis reversed, is setting. Legend: 'SOL . ORIENS . FUGAT .OCCIDENTEM.' (The rising sun puts to flight the setting sun). Exergue: 'D.19-29 May . MDCXCII'.
