Medal cast

Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Bust of King William III in a medium-length wig, laureate and decorated armour (right). Legend: 'GVILIELMVS . III . D . G . MAG . BRIT . FRAN . ET . HIB . REX.' Reverse: A central circle containing conjoined medallion busts of two admirals (right) surrounded by four oval medallions with views of naval actions. Inscription (on band around circle): 'D. RUSSEL . ADMIRAL . BRITANN . and D'ALMONDE . ADMIRAL . BATAVUS.', and between the ovals, '14 TOT LA HOGUE, 5 BY GUARZEY, 5 BY WIGHT, 4 TOT CHERBOURG.' The numbers given do not coincide with published accounts.
