Two casts, obverse and reverse of an as. SEC1087-SEC1090 mounted together on card. An as, commemorating the battle of Naulochus and M. V. Agrippa Fleet Commander BC36. Obverse: Within a pearled border the head of M. Vipsanius Agrippa, laureate (left). Legend: 'M. AGRIPPA L.F. COS III'. (ie Consul for the third time). Reverse: Within a pearled border, Neptune, nude, standing, a trident in his left and a dolphin in his right hand. Inscribed: 'S[ENATUS] C[ONSULTO]'. Pompey was defeated by Octavian in the battle of Naulochus.
