Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a French jeton, 1640. Obverse: Bust of Cardinal Richelieu. Legend: 'ARMAND . IO . CAR . DVX . DE . RICHELIEV.' Reverse: Ship on fire in a storm near rocks. Lgend: 'VEL IGNE VEL VNDIS' (either by fire or by the waves). Exergue: '1640'.
