Obverse: Shield of arms of Louis Victor, Duc de Vivonne, surmounted by a coronet, placed on an upright anchor with four arms, and on two crossed batons, the whole resting on a cloak lined with ermine. Legend: 'LE . DVC . DE . VIVONNE . MAL . DE . FRANCE . GENAL . DES . GALERES'. Reverse: Lightning descending on rocks in the sea. Legend: 'OBLVCTANTIA.QVAERIT' (it seeks out objects that resist its force). Exergue: '.1683.'
