Medal cast

Two casts obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Below a wreath, on a cloth the inscription: 'ERKENTENIS VAN EEN ONBEKEND NEDERLANDER VOOR DEN MOED EN STANDVASTIGHEIT VAN DEN ADMIRAAL I.W.DE WINTER' (Recognition by an unknown Dutchman of the courage and constancy of Admiral I.W. De winter.). Reverse: Within a wreath inscribed:
'DOOR HEM BETOOND IN DEN ZEESLAG TEGEN DE ENGELSCHEN OV DEN II.V.WYNMAAND 1797' (Proved by him in the sea battle against the English of the 11th October, 1797).
