Two casts, obverse and reverse of a naval reward. Obverse: A tall column by the seashore supporting navally crowned globe inscribed 'ASIA'. Oval shield hung halfway down inscribed 'TERNATEN' over which Fame holds a wreath. Shipping in background. Legend: 'DOOR GEWELD, LIST, EN HONGER GEPERST'(Hard pressed by force, stratigem and hunger). Exergue: 'verlost 4 AUG 1799'. Reverse: Legend: 'DE RAAD DER ASIATSCHE BEZITTINGEN EN ETABLISSEMENTEN VAN DE BAT REP*'. Inscription within laurel wreath: 'aan JOH. GODF.BUDACH GOUVERN.EN DIRECT-TERNATEN tegens de BRITTEN en MOOREN kloekmoedig, verdedigd hebbende, tot eene ERKENTENIS 1801.' (The Council of the Asiatic Possessions and Establishments of the Batavian Republic to J. G. Bidach, Governor and Director. In recognition of having gallantly defended Ternate against the British and the Moors in 1801).
