Two casts, obverse and reverse, of an engraved lifesaving medal. Obverse: Rampant Dutch lion. Below on a ribbon: 'MDCCCV'. Legend: 'Van wegen het bestuur van het Departement Holland'. Reverse: Inscribed within an oak wreath: 'Aan Gerit Slot Ter gelegendheit van de redding der Equipage van het Pruisisch Galjoot-Schip De Goede Verwachting, Verongluckt op de Scheer 7e January 1805'. (To Gerrit Slot on the occasion of the saving of the crew of the Prussian ship 'Good Watch', wrecked on the Scheer, 7 January, 1805).
