A double-sided cast of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Head of Gilbert Sheldon. Legend: 'GILB . SHELDON CHILIARCHAE LOCUM TENENS NAT 1710 DEN.1794'. Reverse: Inscription: 'GLORIAM A MAIORIBUS ARCHITECTURA NAVALI PARTAM SUAM FECIT ET AUCTAM' (The fame in ship building, which he had inherited from his ancestors, he not only made his own but enhanced.) Exergue: 'SOCIO SUO R. ACAD. SC. STOCKH. 1809'.
