Medal cast
Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse chipped. Obverse: Heimdal, Norse God of light, standing on the bridge of heaven, blowing his horn, sword in hand, cock crowing at his feet. Legend: 'NU STANDER STRID ENUNDER IUTLAND.' (Now is there strife hard by Jutland). Reverse: Two Norse warriors standing on a boat under sail. Legend: 'OGBOREN BLAESER DENNEM IND FOR DANMARK' (and a fair wind blows them towards Denmark). Exergue: 'TIL DE FRIVILLIGE FRA BRODERRIGERNE'. (To the volunteers from sister-lands).
