Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Reverse cracked. Obverse: Between columns, a table on which scales and a sword. Drapery behind and the shield of Hamburg above. On the pedestals of the columns left: 'ANNO 1736'. Right: '1736'. Legend: 'ET IVSTI VINDEX.' (The champion of the just). Exergue: 'REIP . HAMB.' Reverse: A frigate flying the Hamburg flag. Legend: 'ET FORMINANDA LATRONI' (and the terror of the pirate). Exergue: 'ADMIRALITAS'.
