Corolla (1895); Recreation vessel; Yacht; 2 1/2 rater

Scale: 1:12. A half block model for the yacht Corolla (1895) made entirely of wood with metal fittings. The hull has been carved from two pieces of wood which meet along the waterline of the hull, the lower piece being a darker finish from the upper piece. It is fitted with a single sheet of natural and varnished wood for the deck onto which was fitted a single stump mast (now missing). The hull is fitted with a metal keel at the base of which is a ballast bulb which has been painted black whilst fitted under the overhanging counter stern is an oval-shaped rudder again in metal. The whole model is mounted on a light oak backboard with a moulded end, the corners of which are inset and which has been varnished overall.
