Mosquito
Scale: 1:32. A half block model of the yacht Mosquito (1848) made entirely of wood in bread and butter construction. The hull is painted a dark olive colour with black topsides above which are complete with a single beading running the full length of the hull fitted at the level of the channel. The deck is set below the bulwarks and painted a creamy white colour and is fitted with a single stump mast made of natural wood and varnished. The hull consists of a slightly raking straight stem post with a keel running aft and deepening towards the stern with a rudder fitted underneath an overhanging counter stern with a shallow transom. The whole model is mounted on a wooden backboard which has been painted a light blue colour and fitted with a moulded varnished wooden edge.
