Bona

Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the yacht Bona (1897) made entirely of wood in bread and butter fashion. The hull is painted a copper colour below the waterline with a creamy white to the topsides above and a small black line just below the deck level running the entire length of the hull. The deck has been painted black with a light brown edging and is fitted with a single stump mast finished in natural wood and varnished. The hull shape consists of a long curved raking bow (bowsprit missing) with a rudder attached to the keel which is situated under a long overhanging counter stern. The whole model is mounted on a mahogany backboard with a moulded edge and is varnished.


Plaque inscribed "Bona Designed by G L Watson 1897 LWL 76'-6" x Beam 18'-0" X Draft ex 14'-0" Scale 1/4" equals 1 Foot".
