Margherita
Scale: unknown. A half block model of the sailing yacht Margherita (1913) made entirely of wood in bread and butter construction. The lower portion of the hull has been painted in bronze-brown colour to indicated sheathing, whilst the top sides, to the level of the deck are painted a creamy-white. The deck consists of a single sheet of natural wood, which has been varnished, and is fitted with a two stump masts (main mast missing) and bowsprit, both of which made of natural wood and varnished. The underwater hull is fitted with the outline of a rudder and is situated below a long and overhanging stern, whilst there is a spoon bow under the bowsprit. The whole model is mounted on a stained mahogany backboard with a molded edge and polished overall. There is inscription, hand painted in white "Margherita 380 tons, built by Camper & Nicholson's Ltd Gosport 1913".
