Recreation vessel(1840); Yacht; Racing

Scale: unknown. A contemporary sailor made picture model of a two-masted schooner-rigged racing yacht (1840), with a waterline hull mounted on a painted sea base. The painted background includes a number of other vessels such as paddle steamer, a ship-rigged merchantman, and a two-masted topsail schooner. The yacht is fitted with an eagle figurehead and a number of figures on deck. There is a defaced blue ensign with an anchor and crown flying from the mizzen and a small pennant (now detached).(
