RNSA 14 (1920); Recreation vessel; Small craft; Sailing dinghy; Sail training

Scale: 1:24. A contemporary full hull model of a RNSA 14 sailing dinghy circa 1920. The hull is built plank on frame with mahogany planks on steamed oak frames and varnished throughout. It is fully equipped with a rudder with a retractable metal blade, tiller with extension, copper buoyancy tanks and a working centre plate. It has a fully working gunter rig with a jib and a battened cotton mainsail with the number ‘254’ stitched on the port side. The model was used as a teaching aid and as such is complete with a large number of small plastic labels identifying the important parts of the hull, fittings and the wooden mast and spars.
