Cardigrae IV (1962); Recreation vessel; Yacht; Motor
Scale: Unknown. A contemporary half block plating model of the motor yacht Cardigrae IV (1962). The hull is constructed from several planks of wood in bread and butter fashion and varnished overall. It has a almost flat sheer with a stepped fordeck and bridge superstructure. It has a concave and angle bow running aft onto a flat keel, which finally finishes with an angled skeg. The stern curves upwards finishing in a rounded and tapering canoe shape to a flush deck. The hull is annotated with a series of structural features, fittings and measurements which are used to calculate the dimensions and positioning of the plating in relation to the frames. The whole model is mounted on rectangular wooden backboard and is inscribed with a series of station marks running parallel to the keel below.
