There is a pronounced keel with two brass drop keels, one larger than the other, both with pronounced rivets along their front edges. A rectangular piece of wood is screwed to the floor of the hull and above it, on the starboard side is an angled strip of aluminium with numbers marked in two shades of marker pen '0' to '20'. On starboard bow "Model No.090 CN" and on starboard broadside "Gridlines 1.0 Feet Apart Measured on Girth".
