Recreation vessel; Yacht

Scale: Unknown. A full hull model of a sailing yacht built in bread and butter construction made entirely of wood with metal fittings. The hull consists of twenty layers of wood that has been glued together. Externally the model is finished in natural wood and varnish and around the turn of the bilge and midship section there has been some remoulding using plasticine or filler. There are also a series of circular brass studs pushed into the model underneath the bow and the leading edge of the keel on both sides. There is an adjustable rudder fitted at the aft end of the keel as well as a fixed skeg underneath the stern. The stern tapers towards a rounded and angled transom and meets the upper plank which forms a partial deck with bulkheads running athwartships at the stern, just aft of midships, one towards the bow and a small triangular one in the bow itself. Both this upper deck plank and all the internal faces of the planks have been painted a bright lemon yellow. The bulkhead just aft of midships is fitted with a brass quadrant forward of which is a long tiller connected to the vertical rudder post coming up through the hull from the keel. There are a large number of annotations including measurements, descriptions and a large letter G at the very stern.
