A lascar seaman on the foredeck of a motor lifeboat, said to be from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathaird (1932) in an unknown location. He is crouching down on the foredeck next to the jackstaff looking over his left shoulder. The P. & O. houseflag is affixed to the jackstaff and a boathook is standing in a bracket fixed to the foredeck beam. A vertical format negative.
