HMS Immortalite (1859); Warship; 50 gun screw frigate
Scale: 1:24. Waterline model depicting the bow of HMS Immortalite (1859), a 50 gun screw frigate. The hull has been painted in brick red below the waterline and black above, and there is a white band painted along the line of gun ports which are black. The wooden planking on deck has also been depicted. The model has been made to show how the mast and bowsprit would have been rigged, with the foremast and bowsprit accurately depicted in terms of their standing and running rigging. The foremast has studding sail booms on its lower two yards, and there are booms stowed alongside the channels. Fittings include four anchors and the manner in which they are stowed, a figurehead, deck gratings, and hatch covers.
